I see someone frantically going through the motions of life. Nothing seems to be falling apart, all the actions appear to be ordinary, if not delightful, but this person isn’t enjoying anything. She is bouncing from activity to activity like something dreadful will happen if she doesn’t finish every task.
“Slow down!” I hear God saying. You’re missing everything. I see the person’s day once again: all the precious moments hurried through, memories not made, all the opportunities skipped, moments of ministry passed unaware. The frantic pace of life, though it might feel natural as it is the cultural norm, was not meant for us. Slow down, let things go undone, skip some activities to enjoy moments of peace alone and with family and friends. The slower pace of life will allow you to see the precious moments and experience the opportunities of ministry. The memories made will be strong and deep.
