Isaiah 55:6
Hello, my name is Ryland. A little about me- I live in Washington state. I am a daughter of God. I am married to the most remarkable man on the planet. I have two wild and wonderful children that I am blessed to get to homeschool. I moonlight as a massage therapist. And I am strangely passionate about all my hobbies. I knit like a fanatic. I jog like I might one day win my age group in some 5k race (highly unlikely but one can dream), and I play each of my co-ed, D league soccer games as if the World Cup is on the line.
Now, that we are friends: the purpose of this blog. Watchmen to the Walls has been a phrase that has been on my heart for over a year. After some research I discovered that some prophets in the Old Testament called themselves watchmen. In ancient cities the watchmen were stationed on the walls, and it was their responsibility to sound a warning if an enemy approached. That is much what Ezekiel did. However, Habakkuk's take on the duties of watchmen were for them to be on the lookout for the manifestation of God's power. Watchmen to the Walls is a call on my heart to look out and listen; then to declare what I see and hear. I believe God wants to speak to His children: through His Word as well as to the heart of His children addressing specific issues that they have been, are, or will be going through.
If your beliefs do not line up with mine that is understandable. We can agree to disagree. But for those who do read this, my hope is that you, my friend, will know that the God who created the universe knows you and cares about your goings on. I hope that the things meant for you will stick and the things not, will be soon forgotten.
So, let's do this.
