Seek the Lord while he may be found: Call upon him while he is near

Isaiah 55:6

Forward

I saw a person, which I believe represents all of us, running at an excellent pace through the journey of life. Suddenly a storm descends upon him. He has been vigilant about watching the sky and forecasting when weather would come, but this took him totally by surprise. He has had to slow his pace to a walk as his path is sent him down a steep mountainous pass with many rocks and boulders in the way. The storm has been continuous for many days till he became used to it. As if it was part of the normal way of life. After descending on the mountainous path he finds himself at a lower elevation than he has ever been. This felt strange and unfamiliar.

Through breaks in the clouds he could see glimpses of his path. It wound it’s way steeply up another mountain side, many narrow sections with sheer drop offs were in store. Also, he could see there were huge boulders and large fallen obstacles in his way. Not an easy path. But mostly the clouds obscured his vision so that he could not see where he was going. He was tired of the slow pace and wanted to run but that was impossible. Frustrated, overwhelmed and feeling powerless he didn’t know what to do.

I feel like God is saying- just walk the part of the journey that is before you today. God has given you glimpses of what lies ahead so that you might be confident that the path does continue. You cannot live the section of the path that is in the future until you reach that day. It is at that point when you’ll have overcome all the preceding obstacles and difficulties that you’ll be strong enough and equipped to handle that portion. Take one day at a time and one step at a time. Keep on the lookout for the good in the world and be ready to do good to those you meet.

fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
