Seek the Lord while he may be found: Call upon him while he is near

Isaiah 55:6

The Race

A woman is running a race, a very long race. She’s very athletic, strong and capable. Running isn’t new to her. In this race she has come upon a new phase. She knows what she’s facing- a long, hot, dry desert. She’s begun this phase with a huge hydration pack and supplies to support her as she’s running solo through this place with no provisions. Even though she’s run this race for an experienced runner she’s never encountered such extremely difficult conditions. The thought keeps returning to her that she cannot do this.
I felt like God was saying you’re carrying too much. Have faith, trust in Him to provide what you need. Put down your heavy pack of supplies and run unencumbered. Like the Israelites in the desert God will provide manna from heaven to supply your needs. He will send rain in the desert, something that has never happened just for you. In this phase of the race we will see the hand of God move just for you. This will be a huge faith building experience. When you complete this phase of the race you’ll be a different woman, stronger both in faith and physical ability.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of God
