Seek the Lord while he may be found: Call upon him while he is near

Isaiah 55:6

Stone wall

I see someone tasked with building a stone wall. I feel like this is a wall for protection. The work is labor-intensive. The worker has done his job with dedication for a long time but has recently begun to be discouraged. The stone wall is not very tall even though he has worked tirelessly for so long. The worker entertains thoughts of the prolonged peace that makes his task seem pointless. He begins to take his eyes off this job and looks around. Nearby there are large, ripe berries. He leaves his job for the first time to have what to him seems a much deserved rest. Picking the berries, he looses track of time. Much more time has passed than he realizes. He does not see the circumstances changing around him. He doesn’t see that prolonged peace is fragile. His task was not to be delayed. The construction of the wall must begin again with greater urgency. When the peace breaks, the stone wall of protection must be complete.
